Privacy Policy I AgreeRemoving the full range of tattoos and pigmentary concerns requires the ideal combination of technologies—the right wavelengths, the right pulse durations and the right energy levels. enlighten™ brings those features together in one complete system—NOW with PICO 670.
Tattoo inks. Pigmented lesions. Skin tone irregularities. Each of these pigments has its own unique characteristics. With enlighten™you have the power to address each type of pigment, based on color and depth—selectively destroying it safely and effectively.

Tattoos are pigment particles distributed throughout the dermis. The particle sizes ranges from 2 nm to 400 nm with smaller particles grouped into larger particles measuring 0.5 mm to 4.0 mm2. Selective destruction and elimination of tattoo particles largely depends on two parameters:
1. laser wavelength which should match the maximum absorption of the tattoo particle
2. pulse duration which is optimized based on the particle size
As tattoo ink particles absorb the laser energy, they are fragmented and the cells containing the pigment are eliminated. CUTERA understands what is needed to destroy the particles based on color, size and depth—enlighten gives you the power to achieve better outcomes using a wide range of wavelengths, energy and pulse durations matched to the varying characteristics of each particle.
By combining highly effective wavelengths and ultra-short pulses, enlighten’s PICO Genesis™procedure (spot tx + global tx) causes an intense, non-thermal, photo-mechanical disruption that breaks apart pigment (A), and delivers a laser-induced shockwave for dermal disruption and remodeling (B). Your patients will see a brighter, more uniform complexion in as few as two treatments—with minimal downtime
Its ultra-short, picosecond pulses shatter congenital or resistant pigmentary conditions at multiple depths, helping you achieve full clearance with fewer thermal effects, and with less trauma to surrounding tissue.
